Many patients come to see me for treatment of stained and discoloured teeth. Ali’s treatment involved placing 10 veneers to disguise the poorly coloured teeth. By careful planning, minimal tooth structure was removed to create a truly glamorous look. The interesting element in this case was how we achieved a very white end result but with a natural appearance with carefully placed surface texture.

Uneven colour and gaps around the gum line was the problem here. All the teeth in the upper jaw were treated utilizing veneers and crowns to dramatically improve the smile. The patient was now happy to give a full beaming smile once again.

This was a challenging case. Ideally orthodontics could have been used to move the teeth into the correct position. The patient was unwilling to go through 1 to 2 years of orthodontics and was seeking an immediate result in the shortest possible time. 10 veneers were placed to whiten the smile and make the teeth look even taking just 2 weeks to complete.

There was a problem with the overall balance of this smile. By widening the right hand side of the smile with veneers and replacing the existing crowns a sense of balance was re-established. When enough teeth are involved the smile can easily be whitened. Using gum surgery to dramatically improve her gum line and a multiple veneer technique her 2 central incisors were re-established and a very symmetrical smile was achieved.

A particularly difficult case due to a central incisor being completely missing and the other central incisor being right in the middle of the smile. The aim with this treatment was to widen the smile but predominately to improve the symmetry of the smile. This was achieved by disguising one of the lateral incisors to make it look like a central incisor and to redesign the gum shape. Multiple veneers were used to produce this natural and beautiful smile.

The patient was seeking a whiter, even smile but only wanted a minimal amount of dentistry performed. Initially Enlighten bleaching was carried out followed by 2 cerec veneers on her central incisors using the same day Cerec porcelain veneer technique. This is far more difficult to achieve a natural look due to the colour match challenge of the 2 veneers to the remaining teeth. Using Cerec allowed me to customize the colour and translucency of the veneers to perfectly match the other teeth. Minimal dentistry – Maximum effect

Many patients have a gap between there upper front teeth. Rarely can placement of just 4 crowns produce an aesthetic result, as you can see in the before photograph. In order to not have oversized central incisors it if usually necessary to involve 8 to 10 teeth to distribute the excess space amongst as many teeth as possible. In this case 8 teeth were treated to treat the gap and to improve the relative proportions of the teeth. The smile achieved was white but believable.

The main problem with this smile was lack of width and an uneven smile. 8 teeth were restored using porcelain veneers to fill out the back teeth, even the incisal tips and whiten the whole smile. Note how the curve of the smile complements the curve of the lower lip enhancing the overall symmetry.

Symmetry is key to a beautiful smile. The patient wished for a whiter and prettier smile. Veneers were used to even the lateral and canine teeth and more veneers were placed to whiten the total smile. Many people come to see me for localised aesthetic tooth problems but this case is a great demonstration of how important it is to consider all the teeth that are involved with a smile.

These teeth were very uneven, crowded and discoloured. The patient was looking for a white and even smile and this was achieved using 20 veneers and crowns. In this case the patient wished for minimal characterisation of the veneers and this was achieved using a light colour and minimising the incisal translucency.
