Are Veneers a Suitable Treatment for me?

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin covers made from porcelain that are placed over your teeth to completely cover the front, and they are used to create the appearance of better teeth. They do this by hiding any flaws such as cracks, chips and crooked teeth. Instead of seeing a damaged tooth, people will see a perfect veneer.

Each one is made individually to ensure it is the perfect fit for your tooth. It is then bonded to the tooth – after we have removed a small layer of your tooth’s surface – using a strong adhesive. This is designed to last for many years, which is why many people have veneers for between 10 and 15 years before they need replacing.

Who Can Get Veneers?

As veneers can disguise a number of commonly found tooth flaws, they are the perfect treatment for a lot of our patients. Chipped teeth, broken teeth, gaps and crooked teeth can all be hidden by veneers. Veneers can also be used to improve the overall appearance of teeth by improving the shape and colour. If you want to improve the appearance of your teeth, there is a high chance that veneers are the ideal solution.

Crowns and dental implants provide somewhat similar results to veneers, though these treatments are slightly different and they have their own advantages. You can find out which cosmetic dentistry route is best for you by talking to one of our expert dental professionals.
