Everything You Need to Know About Full Mouth Dental Implants

What Are Full Mouth Dental Implants?

Dental implants are a long-term solution to patients missing teeth because they feel and act just like normal teeth. Typically with singular dental implants, a titanium screw is placed into the jawbone where the missing tooth used to be, using a surgical procedure. A custom-made crown is then attached to replace the missing tooth.

When there is a full arch of teeth missing, to avoid the need for a large number of singular implants, we instead use a method called All-on-4. This involves fitting a full arch of prosthetic teeth on to 4 implants. To do this, we strategically place each implant across your jawbone to ensure the best security and stability of the prosthetic teeth.

Implant Process Using Digital Dentistry

Firstly, you will need to visit the dental surgery for an initial consultation and assessment so that we can decide what treatment is the most suitable for your needs individually.

We will then use a CBCT scan to get a detailed picture of your jawbone and the surrounding tissue, ensuring the quality of the foundation we will be working from. Next, we use 3D digital imaging to plan where your implants will be placed and to use your CBCT scans to create a surgical plan.

The surgical procedure itself is performed using Guided Implant Surgery. This process is  often used for dental implant treatments as it provides high accuracy and stability. Dr Julian Caplan is one of the few dentists in the UK to provide this surgery.

By providing digital dentistry treatments, we set ourselves apart with the highest quality possible and minimise normally invasive treatments to promote the comfort of our patients. Find out more about our investment in digital dentistry.
